Postpartum Care
At Premier Care for Women, we know that the weeks following delivery are a critical time for healing, adjustment, and support. Our approach to postpartum care is personalized and proactive, helping you transition smoothly into this new phase of life.
Your First Postpartum Visit
We typically see patients 1 to 2 weeks after delivery, either in person or virtually, depending on your individual needs, risk factors, and any complications during pregnancy or childbirth.
This early visit focuses on:
- Recovery from delivery (vaginal or cesarean)
- Managing bleeding, cramping, and discomfort
- Mood and emotional wellbeing
- Blood pressure or glucose monitoring if indicated
- Birth control planning, if desired
- Addressing any urgent concerns
Comprehensive 6-Week Postpartum Visit
Around 6 weeks after delivery, we conduct a more comprehensive exam to assess:
- Healing of incisions, perineal tears, or episiotomy sites
- Pelvic floor recovery
- Resumption of sexual activity and intimacy
- Ongoing mental health screening
- Finalizing contraception plans
- Answering any lingering questions about postpartum life
Emotional Health & Support
We recognize the physical and emotional changes of new motherhood. We screen for postpartum depression and anxiety, and we’re here to offer support and connect you with additional resources if needed.
Our team is committed to caring for the whole person—not just during pregnancy and delivery, but well beyond.
